For weight management this is a fantastic tool to use. Everyone has one, and everyone’s is different.
Your BMR is the amount of energy your body requires each day, in the form of calories, to function properly(including involuntary functions like breathing and keeping your heart beating) while your at complete rest. When awake, and as activity levels increase(especially through weight training and exercise), your caloric needs increase.
The daily energy expenditure will differ between each individual.
Without making things to complicated, if you consume more than your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) you will gain weight, if you have less, you will lose weight.
You CANNOT make energy out of thin air.
If you are gaining weight, you are eating more than your body requires.
An easy way to calculate your BMR:
BODY WEIGHT (in lbs) x 10 = BMR
An easy way to calculate your TDEE:
BMR + (BMR x 0.5) = TDEE
A basic method to burn fat.. eat 300cal less than your TDEE. (high Protein)
